So today I was thrown a few blocking issues. first, Stretch version of raspbian appears to have broken dependencies to php5-mysql. It appears php7 is favored over php5 and mariadb over mysql. This has caused more problems to what was supposed to be a trivial re-instancing of my owncloud instance for upgrade testing.
a clone of the sd card proved unsuccessful too. cloned system appears to hang on Mounting Fuze.
After digging around some helpful folks on stackoverflow provided me the images needed to re-install an old release
